One figure for labour
Labour is around £89 for a visit, whatever the job: a door, a window, a lock change or a lockout. There is no call-out fee and no hourly meter.
Labour costs more after 10pm (£120) and after midnight (£150). We always tell you the price before we come.
Parts are on top, and they depend on what is wrong. Most people do not know what is wrong with their door, and that is fine: describe it on the phone or send a photo on WhatsApp, and we tell you the full price before we set off.
We’re answering again from 8am. Leave a message and we’ll call you back.
What changes the price
- The time of day. Labour costs more after 10pm (£120) and after midnight (£150). We always tell you the price before we come.
- The part. A door mechanism costs more than a lock cylinder; a British Standard mortice lock more than a night latch. We tell you the part price when we know what the door needs, and you choose the lock quality to suit your budget.
- A second job on the same visit. Usually much less than a second visit. Tell us while we are there.
- Nothing else. No charge for the quote, no charge for travel, no charge for a Sunday.
What you pay, in practice
A door that will not lock, mechanism replaced. Labour £89 plus the mechanism. One visit, usually under two hours.
Lost keys, two locks changed. Labour £89 plus two new cylinders with new keys. Under an hour.
Locked out, door opened without damage. Labour £89, and nothing else if nothing is broken.
After a break-in. Labour plus whatever the door needs to be safe tonight. We tell you on the phone, and again before we start.
A window that will not close. Labour £89 plus a hinge or handle set. Usually under an hour.
- DBS checked
- Public liability insured
- 1-year warranty on parts
Questions about the price
Is there a call-out fee?
No. You pay for the work, not for us turning up.
Can you tell me the price before you come?
Yes. Describe the problem on the phone, or send us a photo on WhatsApp, and we tell you the price before we set off. If we find something different when we arrive, we tell you before we do anything.
Do I pay more at night?
Labour costs more after 10pm (£120) and after midnight (£150). We always tell you the price before we come.
What if you cannot fix it?
If we come out and cannot fix it, you do not pay for the repair. We will tell you what it needs instead.
What if I find another problem while you are here?
Tell us. A second job on the same visit is usually much less than a second visit.
Is there a warranty?
DBS checked · Public liability insured · 1-year warranty on parts. If a part we fitted fails within a year, we come back and sort it.
How do I pay?
Card, cash or bank transfer, when the job is done.
Do you charge VAT?
[PLACEHOLDER: VAT registered or not. If yes: prices include VAT. If no: we are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT on top.]
