How our prices work

Sound familiar?

  • I've lost my keys
  • I've just moved in and want new locks
  • I want a lock my insurer will accept

What happens when you call

  1. You call or send a photo

  2. We tell you the price

  3. We agree a time, often the same day

We show you the problem, then fix it, usually in one visit.

Repair or replace?

Sometimes only part of the lock needs changing, the barrel the key goes into. That costs less than a whole new lock, and we will tell you if that is all you need.

We fit Yale and Ultion locks, from standard to high security, to suit your budget.

Questions people ask us

I’ve lost my keys. Should I change the locks?

If you don't know where the keys are, yes. We can usually do it the same day.

What is an anti-snap lock?

A lock that is harder for burglars to break. We can show you the options and the difference in price.

I’ve just moved in. Should I change the locks?

Yes. You do not know how many keys the previous owners, tenants or tradespeople still have. Changing the cylinders is a quick job and costs less than people expect.

Can you fit a lock my insurer will accept?

Yes. Most insurers ask for a British Standard (BS3621) mortice lock on a wooden door, or an anti-snap cylinder on a plastic or composite door. We fit both and tell you which one yours needs.

Do you cut keys?

New locks come with new keys. We do not cut copies of existing keys; a key cutter on the high street does that.

How long does a lock change take?

Changing a cylinder takes about fifteen minutes. A mortice lock on a wooden door takes about an hour.
